The tradition of the Kickoff Weekend game began in 2002, and the 2003 matchup featured the New York Jets vs the Washington Redskins, held on September 4th, 2003. This ball comes with the special edition "2003 Kickoff Weekend" logo embossed on the leather panels, along with the Wilson graphics - all of which are still nicely intact. The manufacturer's code stamped on the ball is "FR" which converts to 2003 production. This football would make a fantastic display ball in Jets, Redskins or football fan's display collection.
